She had been battered by burglars at her home on July 1 by a Traveller gang which works between Derry and England, targeting vulnerable victims along the Border.Detectives are awaiting the results of a post mortem to find out how Suzy died.If her death is linked to the serious hip and rib injuries she suffered, Gardaí will ask the DPP to recommend those responsible are charged with manslaughter. It’s understood the gang was ‘careless’ and did leave forensic clues which officers believe they can connect to the gang. Suzi, and her sister Isa, had been robbed on six previous occasions. They were well-known turkey growers but had to give that up after a gang from Strabane raided their premises four years ago.Nephew Joe Kean says Suzi’s death lies in the hands of the men who raided their home in July.“They were tortured all the time,” said Joe.“The people who pushed Suzy to the ground are the people that killed her.” Gardaí have identified several possible suspects. They believe the gang which raided their home at Feddyglass, Raphoe – on the main Letterkenny to Lifford Road – left several clues. We understand Gardaí have already spoken to colleagues in the PSNI and in England in a bit to attempt the gang, one of several travelling gangs which targeted Donegal this year in UK-registered cars.Suzy was laid to rest today in the churchyard beside Taughboyne Parish Church. Rev David Crookes said Susan was a “wonderful person” who had enriched the lives of all she met.BURGLARY VICTIM SUZY LAID TO REST AS GARDAÍ REVIEW CLUES TO FIND KILLER was last modified: October 13th, 2013 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:burglaryDonegal DailymanslaughterSuzi Arthurlast_img
